Try and guess about their meaning with the help of the pictures. 3.       The text you are going to listen to is written in the Present Simple Tense. Let’s remember its forming.

Sammy is a very nice and funny and Liz loves her kitten very much. Liz has got many toys: dolls, balls, monkeys, elephants, crocodiles, tigers, cats and dogs. Sammy likes to play with the toys. She likes to play hide-and-seek, too. One day Liz comes home, but she doesn’t see Sammy. Sammy is not near the table, she is not on the chair, she is not in the box. Sammy is under the sofa. She wants to play hide-and-seek with Liz. It’s fun to play hide-and-seek but Luz doesn’t want to play this game. She gives Sammy a little yellow ball to play with. It’s fun to play the ball, too.

T. Good day, children. I’ve some interesting for you. Today we shall speak about New Year. I have a text about it. Listen and take the notes about:

c)       Decorating

d)      Presents

e)       Father Frost

f)       Main traditions

g)      Main food

Ukrainian people celebrate New Year and Christmas in winter. They decorate their houses with toys, flags and balls. Father Frost and Snow Maiden always bring presents for little children. The presents are made of plastics, rubber, cotton, wood and glass.

The children send postcards to their friends. They wish them a Happy New Year and a Merry Christmas.

ІІ. Контроль розуміння почутого у вигляді бесіди, тренування непідготовленого висловлювання.

Мета: перевірити знання й розуміння учнями отриманої інформації.

Прийом: бесіда.

ІІІ. Контроль вміння складати монологічні висловлювання, практика в говорінні.

1.       Take turns and tell your group mates about the NY and Christmas playing the game “Snow Ball”.

2.       Tell your group mates your stories about the NY and Christmas using all the information you know.

Вправа 2. Ознайомлення з правилами написання листа.

Мета: ознайомити учнів з правилами написання листа.

Прийом: пояснення.

1. Your address should go in the right-hand corner.
2. The date comes underneath remember this: the names of month always have a capital letter.
3. The correct punctuation after the salutation is….(Dear +your friend’s name)
4. You should start your letter with a general friendly beginning, such as: Thank you for your letter,…..
5. In the next paragraph you should give your reason for writing and organize what you want to say to your friend.
6. You should end your letter with an expression such as: “With best wishes from…”
7. The last thing you write your name.

ІІ Етап. Тренування в складанні листа.

Мета: тренування учнів у складанні листів.

Прийом: виконання різноманітних рецептивних, репродуктивних вправ.

Вправа 1. Групування речень у дві групи: початок і кінець листа.

Мета: вчити учнів визначати початок і кінець листів.

Прийом: вправляння.

Мета: практикувати учнів у складанні листа відповідно ситуацій

Прийом: написання листів.

Вправа 1. You have got a letter from your pen – friend who writes you how he celebrated Christmas and asked you to write him about your holiday. 

Вправа 2. You are on holiday in Carpathians. Write a letter to your parents and tell them about:

-          The weather

-          What you are doing during the daytime

-          How you spend the nights.
