І Етап: Підготовка до написання листа:

Мета: ознайомити учнів зі зразком написання листа, з причинами його написання.

Прийом: демонстрація зразка.

Вправа 1. Читання зразка листа і з’ясування причин його написання.

Мета: показати учням стиль написання англійського листа і визначити причини його написання.

Прийом: читання, бесіда.

    It was nice to get a letter from you .Thank you for your story about your school. You asked me to tell you about New Year traditions.

    Well, we all like New Year very much. It’s a fantastic festival. There’s a beautiful big New Year tree in the central square in our city. A lot of people go there to have fun, sing, dance and play games near the New Year tree at night. If you would go, You can meet Grandfather Frost there. I’m having a party, I wonder if you would like to come, and stay the whole weekend.

Вправа 2. Ознайомлення з правилами написання листа.

Мета: ознайомити учнів з правилами написання листа.

Прийом: пояснення.

1. Your address should go in the right-hand corner.
2. The date comes underneath remember this: the names of month always have a capital letter.
3. The correct punctuation after the salutation is….(Dear +your friend’s name)
4. You should start your letter with a general friendly beginning, such as: Thank you for your letter,…..
5. In the next paragraph you should give your reason for writing and organize what you want to say to your friend.
6. You should end your letter with an expression such as: “With best wishes from…”
7. The last thing you write your name.

ІІ Етап. Тренування в складанні листа.

Мета: тренування учнів у складанні листів.

Прийом: виконання різноманітних рецептивних, репродуктивних вправ.

Вправа 1. Групування речень у дві групи: початок і кінець листа.

Мета: вчити учнів визначати початок і кінець листів.

Прийом: вправляння.

Вправа 2. Написання причини

Мета: вчити учнів викладати причину написання листа та поєднувати її з привітанням.

Прийом: вправляння.

T. After a friendly beginning you should give your reason for writing. Match each of the following reasons for writing with the appropriate sentences.

Мета: вчити учнів складати початкову частину листа з поясненням причини його написання.

Прийом: практика в написанні початку листа з поясненням причини його написання.

Вправа 4. Основна частина листа.

Мета: вчити учнів викладати основний зміст листа відповідно причини.

Прийом: вправляння

T. Finish one of the letters you started above. Write 120-180 words. Use your knowledge og the topic under study.

Вправа 5. Завершення листа.

Мета: вчити учнів писати кінцівки листа відповідно основної частини.

Прийом: вправляння.

ІІІ Етап. Практика в складанні листа.

Мета: практикувати учнів у складанні листа відповідно ситуацій

Прийом: написання листів.

Вправа 1. You have got a letter from your pen – friend who writes you how he celebrated Christmas and asked you to write him about your holiday. 

Вправа 2. You are on holiday in Carpathians. Write a letter to your parents and tell them about:

-          The weather

-          What you are doing during the daytime

-          How you spend the nights.
